Tallaris
Overview¶
Talaris, often called "The Asrian Gate" is a frontier trade city and military waypoint, positioned where desert routes, river traffic, and imperial roads converge.
It is a place of movement and exchange, not settlement or legacy.
If Azura is the Empire's heart and Rosa its hands, Talaris is a joint: flexible, stressed, and always in motion.

Important Locations¶
-
Caravan Yards
Massive, crowded, and always noisy. Deals are made here as often as goods are traded. -
River Docks & Ferries
Vital chokepoints. Whoever controls timing here controls flow. -
Garrison Compound
Larger and more visible than in Spina. Authority is meant to be seen. -
Market Streets
Temporary stalls, changing faces, and overlapping jurisdictions.
Notable NPCs¶
(Again, roles over fixed names)
-
Imperial Commandant
Prioritizes order and throughput. Less political than Azura, more pragmatic. -
Caravan Broker
Knows who is moving, when, and why. Often more powerful than officials. -
Desert Guide Captain (Qnassi or Mixed)
Trusted by outsiders, tolerated by the Empire. -
River Master
Controls ferry schedules and river access. Quiet but influential.
Current Events¶
-
Increased caravan traffic toward Azura
-
Rising tension between imperial oversight and desert autonomy
-
Security tightening in response to rumors of unrest and dragon movement
-
Pressure to keep routes open regardless of risk
History¶
Talaris grew not from vision but necessity.
Where routes crossed, people stopped.
Where people stopped, the Empire built walls and towers.
It has been rebuilt, reshaped, and repurposed many times.
Nothing here is sacred. Everything is useful.
