Glamour — Phantasm

Phantasm is the Glamour Method concerned with internalized false perception. Instead of creating an external illusion, the target's own mind fills in the details. Phantasms are subtler, harder to disprove, and ethically darker.

  • False Absence
  • Induced Fear
  • False Pursuit

Base Ka Cost (Phantasm)

Phantasm Severity Base Ka
Minor distraction 2
Persistent interference 4
Intense phantasm 6
Overwhelming phantasm 8

Targeting Multiple Minds

Phantasms may affect multiple minds using Group TD rules. Apply the Group TD modifier based on number of targets.
Ka cost increases for group size.

Impact Conversion (Harass)

Harass resolves as an attack using Impact.

Instead of damage:

  • each Impact level applies a penalty

  • Conditions, action misuse, or disruption are common results

Harass does not deal physical harm.

Sensory Scope

Phantasms typically affect:

  • vision

  • emotion

  • expectation

Adding additional sensory channels:

  • +1 Ka per added sense

  • +1 TD per added sense

Duration

Phantasms persist as long as belief holds.

Duration Modifier
Momentary +0
One scene +1 Ka
Extended +3 Ka
Ongoing Requires maintenance

Burn

Burn may be taken to:

  • force belief past doubt

  • suppress resistance for one exchange

  • intensify Impact for Harass

Burn creates emotional fallout.

Failure

Phantasms fail when:

  • the target receives contradictory input

  • emotional tone breaks

  • attention is forcibly redirected

Targets often remember something being wrong.
